Latest Updates from The Old Chapel
July is a busy month locally,
starting with Lostwithiel Carnival Week which gets under way on Sunday
July 11 and ends with the carnival procession on the following
Saturday. Lots going on every day in our local town's big week of the
year. Also very nearby is the beautiful Boconnoc estate and on July 24
& 25 it is the annual Boconnoc Steam Rally which is always a
splendid weekend. A little later, Fowey regatta and carnival week is
from August 15, with highlights including the Red Arrows on the 19th.

New
for 2010 at The Old Chapel is a "Wild
food
foraging" experience, with a
superb half day out with Marcus
Harrison of the Wild Food School in Lostwithiel. He will guide you
through the countryside, revealing what is safe to eat, where to find
it and how to cook or prepare it so you can spend some happy days
hunting through the hedgerows back at home. The course can be booked as
an add-on to a stay at The Old Chapel for £30 per person and
rather than confine it to a specific date when this is available, just
ask us for some more details and we can book you in with Marcus for one
of his days out! Full day courses are also available at £70 per
person.

For those who have eaten earlier in the day and just fancy settling
down in front of the TV or with a book, we are now offering a "snacks
menu" served in the room or in the summer house with such things
as
Westcounty seafood chowder, soup, sandwiches, Welsh rarebit and Cornish
pilchards on toast.
